Bonding units for panels

The bonding unit brings panel components and laminated products together. It combines component presentation, adhesive application and positioning within the manufacturing sequence.

How it works

Panel components are prepared and conveyed to the station. Adhesive is applied using the selected process, then the components are brought together in the required position. Handling equipment supports the sequence through to removal of the assembled panel.

The station forms part of a bonding and laminating line, which can also include machining, cutting and packaging operations.

Key features

Coordination of bonding and panel handling

Process selection suited to the materials being joined

Integration with panel manufacturing operations

Preparation and presentation

Material dimensions and rigidity influence the handling supports and positioning arrangements. The order in which components arrive follows the panel construction.

Adhesive application

The application method is selected for the surfaces and bonding process. Nozzle application is one of the equipment types in the range; its use is specified for the assembly concerned.

Transfer after bonding

The assembled panel is transferred in coordination with the next operations, including machining or cutting when these form part of the line.

The manufacturing specification identifies the materials in each layer, component dimensions, panel formats and the required assembly result.

  • Bonding surfaces and proposed adhesive.
  • How each component reaches the station.
  • Production rate and transfer conditions.
  • Criteria for checking the assembled panel.

These details define the bonding station’s requirements within the line. Its output rate is specified for the selected product and cycle.
